Residents start leaving their flats before demolition

MARLBOROUGH HOUSE TO BE KNOCKED DOWN
A MASS exodus has started at a Plymouth skyscraper which is going to be knocked down as part of a £30m regeneration. Residents have started leaving Devonport's Marlborough House, with some already having found new homes.
The 14-storey building is earmarked for demolition with Plymouth Community Homes (PCH) planning to replace it with sustainable, energy-efficient social housing possibly another tall building. The redevelopment is not scheduled to begin for several years but residents are already moving out.
So far, 17 residents have moved to new homes and a further 12 have found new properties and are expected to leave the tower block soon. They are moving to areas across Plymouth.
