Raising laughs and cash in battle to beat cancer
The Herald

After a week of personal stories on Channel 4, Stand Up To Cancer climaxes with a night of television fronted by Adam Hills and Davina McCall. By Richard Jones

Nearly one in two of us will get cancer at some point in our lives.
But despite that sobering stat, at least nine million people in the UK are not up to date with their cancer screening.
As the SU2C telethon returns, Cancer Research UK and Channel 4 are making a special push so the public can easily find out which NHS and PHA cancer screenings they are eligible for and get helpful advice.
Since its launch in 2012, Stand Up To Cancer UK has raised more than £113million, funding 73 clinical trials and projects involving more than 13,000 cancer patients nationwide.
Adam Hills and Hannah Fry are joined by special guests as they kick off the annual fundraising extravaganza. They'll be taking a look at the new Screening Checker tool, as well as showcasing a week of celebrity stunts.
