Pupils raise thousands for BBC fundraiser

SCHOOLCHILDREN ACROSS THE CITY SUPPORT 'CHILDREN IN NEED'

FROM muddy moorland walks to high-energy fitness challenges, schoolchildren across Plymouth showed their heart and hustle for this year’s BBC Children in Need appeal raising smiles and thousands of pounds in the process.

The nationwide fundraiser, held on Friday, November 14, saw pupils from schools across the city take on physical challenges, themed dress up days, and community cake sales - all in support of disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.

At St Andrew’s CofE Academy in Buckland Monachorum, part of the Learning Academy Partnership, pupils embarked on a six-kilometre countryside ramble. Families and a few four-legged companions joined them, navigating fields, stiles, and muddy tracks. The walk began with a short prayer led by Reverend Andy before heading out onto the moors.
