New war memorial to be unveiled at college

IT COMMEMORATES OVER 170 EX-PLYMOUTH COLLEGE PUPILS
PLYMOUTH is to have a new war memorial which will be unveiled at a special ceremony next month.
The new cenotaph will be sited at Plymouth College and commemorate more than 170 former pupils who died in the two 20th-century World Wars and other conflicts.
The memorial is composed of granite, sourced from nearby Caradon Quarry, and will contain a plaque designed by UK Memorials, at Umberleigh, and containing the names of the fallen.
It reads: “Plymouth College Roll of Honour, Dedicated with gratitude to the memory of former Plymouth College pupils who laid down their lives in service for our country in the two World Wars and subsequent conflicts.”
