STOKE DAMEREL COLLEGE UNVEIL THREE NEW SURFACES

- By KIRSTIE MCCRUM

A COMMUNITY sports facility with pitches for different sports has opened at a Plymouth college.

As part of an ongoing investment, the three multi-surfaced pitches Stoke Damerel Community College has a 2G sand pitch, a smaller 3G pitch and an upgrade of the grass pitch.

The 2G pitch is a multi-sports surface mainly suitable for hockey but can be used for other activities. The 3G pitch is targeted at football and rugby use.

It has been supported by a £250,000 grant from the Premier League, the Football Association and the Football Foundation. Other project funders include Plymouth City Council, Stoke Damerel Community College and the Greenshaw Learning Trust.
