ACTOR RETURNS TO TRP AFTER APPEARING IN SHOWS AS A CHILD

- By ANDY PHILLIPS

Musical role is 'bucket list moment' for Isaac

AN actor who appeared in a number of touring shows at Theatre Royal Plymouth as a child has said that returning to his hometown to play one of the leading roles in the forthcoming production of TINA: The Tina Turner Musical is a 'bucket list moment.

Isaac Elder is now 24, but appeared in eight shows at TRP starting when he was in primary school until the age of 17.

He is returning to the theatre for the first time in an adult professional role when he plays Tina Turner's manager Roger Davies in a run from July 1-12.

Having graduated from Guildford School of Acting, Isaac said stepping back on stage would be 'special' for him.

He told The Herald: “I was born and raised in Plymouth so it's going to be quite special coming back to the theatre.

“It's always been a bucket list thing to come back and do a professional show as an adult, so getting to do that is going to be really special.”

Isaac said he first appeared on the TRP stage in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang when he was in Year Three of primary school, having started with Plym Kids when he was just four years old.

He said: “I think it was eight professional shows as a kid at the theatre - two of them were the pantos which they do every year.

“I think the first one I did was in Year 3 so I was a proper child, and the last one I did was when I was 17.
