Man did burglaries 'so he could go back to jail'

A COURT heard how a man with a large number of convictions to his name carried out a series of burglaries because he wanted to be returned to jail, having left prison without support, friends or family to welcome him back.
Lee Borda, 40, of no fixed abode, appeared at Plymouth Crown Court to be sentenced for a series of offences which took place on June 15 and September 11 this year.
He was arrested on September 11 after a number of incidents on Mutley Plain and Armada Way, prosecutor Bathsheba Cassel told the court, but faced charges for two separate matters.
