Friends lighten the load by slimming together

TWO women who met through Slimming World have said they feel like “different women” after shedding four stones together. Gill Walters and Jenny Squires became firm friends during their health journey.

Jenny, from Ford, joined her local group after deciding she just wanted to “feel like herself again”.

She said: “I was nervous walking through those doors, but I was met with warmth and zero judgement. The group became a lifeline - a place where I could laugh, cry, and be honest about the ups and downs.”

Gill, also from Ford, said: “At first, the idea of exercise was daunting. But the Body Magic programme helped me start small - a short walk here, dancing in the kitchen there - and suddenly, I was moving every day. Doing it with Jenny made it fun, and not something to dread.”
