LUCKLESS DEFENDER FACES ANOTHER SPELL ON SIDELINES

- CHRIS ERRINGTON

FRESH BLOW FOR BOLTON

PLYMOUTH Argyle are waiting to find out the severity of the hamstring injury suffered by defender James Bolton during the first half of the 2-0 win away to Accrington Stanley.

It was the one downside to an important victory for the promotion-chasing Pilgrims, who returned to the top of League One after they beat Accrington and Sheffield Wednesday lost 4-2 at Barnsley also on Tuesday night.

Bolton has missed much of the last two seasons at Argyle with long-term ankle and foot injuries and only made his first league start of the season - and a goalscoring one at that too - in the 2-0 defeat of Forest Green Rovers at Home Park on Saturday.

The 28-year-old retained his place against Accrington and on a wet and windy night in east Lancashire he was playing solidly until injury struck again.
