Drivers 'could use bus lanes'

MILLIONS of drivers are unaware they could be using bus lanes to beat the traffic as there are rules around who can use the lanes - and when - which many don’t know.

Driving in a bus lane when you aren't supposed to could see you fined £70, with many authoritioes using cameras to catch those who break the rules.

But some bus lanes only operate for part of the day, and others allow many drivers to use them - not just buses. A third of drivers say they have accidentally used a bus lane and almost half of those have been fined - and experts say this is because people aren't aware of the rules.
