THEATRES WORKING JOINTLY TO DELIVER EXCITING LINE-UP

- By WILLIAM TELFORD

TWO Plymouth theatres are working together to produce an exciting programme of shows for this autumn.

The Barbican Theatre and Plymouth Marjon University’s Quad Theatre signed a five-year deal in 2024 to bring new productions and performances to the city.

And now the collaboration is bearing fruit with a packed programme of events until Christmas. The listing includes famous punk rock heroes John Lydon, AKA the Sex Pistols’ Johnny Rotten, Tom Robinson, and the Skids, metal star Graham Bonnet, plus West End performers, powerhouse comedians and rising folk talents.

The performances are spread across the two venues, which have the mission that “everyone deserves the chance to take part, to be heard, and to feel they belong”. The theatres also work with young people, emerging and early-career artists, and communities, to develop skills, share stories, and shape work that reflects their experiences.

But they are equally proud of their impact on Plymouth’s cultural offering audiences the chance to experience “world-class live performance right here in Plymouth”.
