Channel swim is in memory of Lindsey's nan

A PLYMOUTH woman swam the English Channel in memory of her nan. Sergeant Lindsey Walke, 49, has completed the "bucket-list" swim to raise money for Alzheimer's Society.

Lindsey's beloved late nan, Margaret Perriment was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and died in 2017. Now, during this month’s Forget Me Not Appeal, Lindsey wanted to honour nan by raising money and awareness for the charity that supported her family throughout Margaret's diagnosis.

The Tavistock police officer is an experienced open water swimmer. She has been training hard over the past few years to work her way up to the 21-mile endurance challenge.

After initial delays due to weather conditions, Lindsey set off on Saturday, June 21, to complete her “bucket-list” adventure.
