WHEN Brazilian-born Vanescka Ferreira wanted to start a diner in Plymouth Market she looked at the myriad of international food offerings and realised there was nowhere selling Italian cuisine.

But a few months after opening Pasta Box Fusion Street Food and dishing out the pasta she was asked why she wasn’t serving dishes from her homeland - and now there is a full menu from the land of the samba.

“[ have been open for 14 months and was doing just Italian food, but I've made some changes bringing in a fusion of Brazilian and Italian food. It’s going well,” she said.

Vanescka said she got the idea for her business when she looked around the market and had a lightbulb moment. She said: “I used to come in here every day and I saw the diversity of food, so I thought about what I could do here. They have Japanese, Spanish, all sorts, so I thought I'd choose Italian because there was no Italian food in here.”
