Amaechi has stood out in Argyle's pre-season
The Herald

IT has been a fairly low-key preseason for Tom Cleverley and his Plymouth Argyle squad, certainly as far as warm-up matches are concerned.
They began with a behind-closed doors game against unnamed opposition, of which no details were released by either club, and then played German 2. Bundesliga side Eintracht Braunschweig at the end of their training camp in Austria, when they were beaten 1-0 after a bizarre own goal by trialist goalkeeper Luca Ashby-Hammond.
A small number of Argyle fans made the trip there, but there was far many more of the Green Army in attendance when the Pilgrims travelled to Cornwall to play newly-promoted National League club Truro City last Wednesday.
The Pilgrims eventually came out on top 3-2 after a late deflected goal from Caleb Watts, in front of 2,725 fans who were packed three or four deep in places around the perimeter of the pitch.
Argyle played an inter-squad practice game on Saturday before their final two preseason fixtures, away to National League South side Torquay United on Wednesday and then against Championship club Bristol City at Home Park on Saturday, July 26.
