Police Name Mother and Two Children Shot Dead in Fermanagh

Police have named the mother and two children who were shot dead at their home in County Fermanagh on Wednesday morning.
Vanessa Whyte, 45, a veterinary surgeon, and her son James Rutledge, 14, and daughter Sara Rutledge, 13, were killed at their house in Maguiresbridge, a village eight miles from Enniskillen, police said yesterday.
A man who was a member of the same household was in a serious condition in hospital.
Police said they were investigating a triple murder and attempted suicide as one line of inquiry.
"Today our thoughts remain with those loved ones whose worlds have been torn apart," DCI Neil McGuinness of the Police Service of Northern Ireland said yesterday. "Our investigation is continuing and I am keen to reiterate our appeal for anyone with information to get in touch. I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who had spoken to Vanessa, Sara or James over the last few weeks.
