G-string ban in Australian pools prompts misogyny row

A council in Greater Sydney has announced a ban on G-string bikinis at its public pools, prompting a debate about gender double standards.
The confusion began after Blue Mountains Leisure Centres issued posters outlining the policy on "appropriate swimwear".
A clarification on Facebook by the council stirred a heated debate about the rules. "It's important to remember that these images are indicative only," the council said on the post.
