Felled Sycamore Gap tree's wood to become art

Artists are being asked for proposals to create a "nationally important" work from the wood of the illegally felled Sycamore Gap tree.
The National Trust revealed details yesterday of a £200,000 commission, offering the chance to use half of the tree's timber.
It came on the second anniversary of the world-famous tree being cut down overnight by Daniel Graham and Adam Carruthers, from Cumbria, who were both later jailed.
