Farage calls for minister to apologise over Savile jibe

The technology secretary became embroiled in a row with Nigel Farage yesterday after saying the Reform leader was on the side of child abusers such as Jimmy Savile when it came to online safety.
Farage called for an apology from Peter Kyle and called the comparison "disgusting". He claimed it was not unreasonable to call for the repeal of the Online Safety Act, which came into force last week.
Kyle held firm, saying the act forced providers to "detect and remove horrific child sexual abuse material, prevents grooming and stops strange adults messaging kids, keeps children's profiles and locations hidden and stops kids seeing porn".
