Dogma 2025 film group proclaims 'cultural uprising' against internet

A group of Danish and Swedish filmmakers has relaunched the Dogme 95 movement with a manifesto updated for the internet age.
The original's low-budget, avant-garde ethos had a profound influence on cinema in Europe and beyond in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
The five creatives have vowed to make five films in one year, working from handwritten scripts and without using the internet or any emails in the creative process.
"In a world where film is based on algorithms and artificial visual expressions are gaining traction, it's our mission to stand up for the flawed, distinct and human imprint," they said in a statement read at the Cannes film festival on Saturday.
