Admiral gave order for lethal strike on boat in Caribbean, Pentagon says

The Pentagon said yesterday a navy admiral had directed the double-tap strike that killed survivors of a September attack on an alleged drug boat in the Caribbean and vowed to continue operations even as lawmakers prepared to investigate whether the attack constituted a war crime.
At a briefing, Kingsley Wilson, the Pentagon press secretary, said the decision to restrike the vessel had been made by Adm Frank M Bradley "operating under clear and longstanding authorities to ensure the boat was destroyed and the threat to the United States was eliminated". Wilson added that the defence secretary, Pete Hegseth, "stands behind Adm Bradley 100%".
