SUNDERLAND captain Granit Xhaka felt his side showed the Premier League how difficult they will be to play against this season during their 1-1 draw with Aston Villa on Sunday.

Despite being reduced to 10 men in the 34th minute when Reinildo Mandava was sent off, the Black Cats clinched a point after Wilson Isidor cancelled out Matty Cash's opener.
The hard-fought draw left Sunderland seventh in the Premier League after five games and Xhaka praised the spirit within the newly promoted team.
