Tia takes crown at first pageant

NEW MISS NEWCASTLE SET TO COMPETE FOR MISS GB TITLE
TEESSIDE fashion student Tia Banks was left stunned when she was crowned Miss Newcastle at the weekend.
The 18-year-old, who had never taken part in any modelling or beauty pageant before, said her legs were shaking and she couldn't breathe when her name was called as the winner.
Tia, who is studying fashion design at Middlesbrough College, is now through to the finals of Miss Great Britain in October and is nervous, but excited about the upcoming competition.
