JUDGE SAYS 'I WILL NOT HAVE FIGHTING IN STREETS'
A boozed-up thug threw a punch at a 17-year-old and kicked at occupants of a taxi in a mass street brawl in Redcar.
Ben Massey has been locked up for 12 months after admitting affray after a string of street fights broke out in Redcar High Street in the early hours of the morning.
Beside him in the dock was Lewis Costello, 25, who was charged with causing grievous bodily harm without intent during the carnage on July 7 last year.
CCTV played in court showed Costello throwing punches at a 17-year-old boy, with one blow knocking him out as he fell unconscious to the floor.
Another male could be seen kicking the unconscious teenager to the head while others intervened.
Costello then kicks the unconscious victim to the body as he leaves the scene.
Ellen Wright, prosecuting, said: "[Costello] punches him to the face rendering him unconscious."
