Store staff praised for 'love' shown to man sleeping in car

AN OAP found sleeping in Asda Stockton’s car park was showered with ‘love and care’ by kindhearted staff.

The 70-year-old widower was reported to be sleeping in his car when he was spotted by colleagues at the Portrack Lane supermarket.

Security staff member Dan McCormack said he visited the man at his vehicle.

"I was made aware of the gentleman being in his car so I went to check to see if he was okay. He said he was, but it looked like he'd been living in it, as there was a sleeping bag in there," he said.
