WING-BACK AND STRIKER THE PRIORITIES IN FINAL DAYS OF WINDOW, SAY FANS

- By CRAIG JOHNS craig.johns@reachplc.com @craig_johns

LESS than a week remains of the summer transfer window and Middlesbrough still have some work they would like to do.

Boro have added Sverre Nypan, Alfie Jones, Callum Brittain, Abdou-laye Kante and Sontje Hansen to their ranks this summer, with French defender Adilson Malanda also signing a deal but set to stay on loan at Charlotte FC in the MLS until January.

Work is ongoing to fill the left wing-back and striker roles before the window closes, with previous bids for Columbus Crew’s Max Arfsten and Metz's Cheikh Sabaly having been rejected.

Are they the right areas to strengthen?

Our fan panel, which consists of Youtube analyst Phil Spencer, Boro Breakdown co-host Dana Malt, Boropolis co-founder Chris Cassidy and Twel2th Man member John Donovan, give their thoughts on the priorities for Boro.

JOHN DONOVAN:

We are obviously short in squad depth, and there are clear areas that need addressing as soon as possible. But in my opinion, Tommy Conway needs support and cover.

He works so hard in a solo forward role and carries a big burden to get the goals.
