FOUR PEOPLE ARRESTED AND BAILED

- By NAOMI CORRIGAN

NEIGHBOURS have expressed shock following the death of a baby on a Middlesbrough estate and four subsequent arrests.

People living around the Hillingdon Road area in Park End told The Gazette they saw police and paramedics at the scene at lunchtime on Saturday, June 7.

An air ambulance was seen landing on a green space next to Hillingdon Road, Highmead and Lowmead Walks and Southmead Avenue.

Police later confirmed a baby had sadly died. One resident living close to the scene said he did not know the family but believes the baby was a little boy and just a few months old. "It's awful," he said.

Police were at the scene for about two hours on Saturday afternoon and they later visited a house on Southmead Avenue, he said.
