Knife threat man jailed

A JEALOUS man held a kitchen knife as he threatened to “stick a knife through his ex-partne

John Simpson has been locked up after he attacked his former partner and then harassed her while he was subject to police bail in March this year.

Teesside Crown Court heard how the woman, who has since died, had tried to get away but Simpson manipulated her with threats to take his own life. He admitted theft, assault by beating and harassment with fear of violence the day before his trial in August.

Andrew Pickin, prosecuting, said: “The defendant John Simpson who is now 25, falls to be sentenced for three offences that were all committed against a [woman] who is sadly deceased”

On November 27, 2024, Simpson assaulted an ex-partner, who had ended the relationship due to issues caused by his drug taking. The pair were arguing and she told him to leave.
