Defeat must not derail our season, says Carrick

MICHAEL Carrick has challenged his Middlesbrough players to respond in the right way to the Leeds United defeat, rather than allow it to derail their season.

Boro's four-match unbeaten run came to an end at the hands of Dan James' early goal at the Riverside on Tuesday evening. Despite that, with five games to go, Boro are still in a solid position in the play-off race and have their destiny in their own hands.

Their first chance to bounce back comes at Millwall tomorrow who, thanks to Josh Coburn's winning goal against Sheffield United, are also right back in the race, sitting just three points off Boro.

“It can't derail us, knock us or change the season,” Carrick said defiantly.
