Bears awarded victory after dramatic meeting

REDCAR will contest the final of the BSN Series after the Speedway Control Board (SCB) decided that the tule book fell open in their favour yesterday.

Sunday’s semifinal, second leg against Glasgow Tigers was dramatically abandoned after a rider's bike was launched over the ECCO Arena track fence and against the spectator barrier a few metres behind it, causing three fans to be injured.

Thankfully the two who were subsequently transported to hospital for further checks, after being treated at length by medical staff at the circuit, were later released - and, a club statement confirmed, “without serious injuries”

When the halt was called, just one scheduled race remained with the Bears ahead 43-41 and the aggregate scores tied at 87-87.
