Banned driver sent mum's car into garden wall

A NOTORIOUS banned driver who found his dad and brother's bodies smashed his car into a mum travelling with her baby - sending it careering through a garden wall.

Riley Smithson was hiding from police after failing to turn up at court on April 20, last year, after he found his dad's body in his family home.

Eighteen days later, Smithson, 23, found his brother's body in the same house.

A warrant was out for the Stockton dad's arrest after he missed his date to be sentenced for driving whilst disqualified. He said that rather than come to court, he sat in his bedroom for days after finding the two bodies - before going out and taking drugs.
