Arson attack probe arrest

SIXTH PERSON TO BE DETAINED IN CONNECTION WITH BLAZE

ANOTHER man has been arrested in connection with an arson attack on businessman Mike Hind's family home earlier this year.

Cleveland Police has confirmed a man aged 30 was arrested on Friday as investigations into the blaze, which happened in the early hours of May 21 this year, are ongoing.

Several vehicles were deliberately set alight on the driveway of the businessman's home and footage from a Ring doorbell shows a suspect pouring liquid, believed to be petrol, on the family's cars and van before setting it ablaze as the gym owner and his family were all in bed.

This now brings the total arrested in connection with the fire to six. The latest arrest comes after two people were arrested last month in connection with the incident.

Two men, aged 23 and 28, were arrested on suspicion of arson, they were interviewed and bailed pending further enquiries.
