Another major blow to the high street as Next to close in days

MIDDLESBROUGH’S Next store will close in seven days’ time.
Next, which has several branches across Teesside, including sites at Teesside Park and Cleveland Retail Park in Middlesbrough, has confirmed the Middlesbrough town centre store will cease trading next Saturday, July 12.
The fashion and homeware retailer has displayed signs confirming the Linthorpe Road store will be closing. No details on how jobs will be affected have been released by Next at this time.
In April 2024, Linthorpe 54 Ltd director Nasser Din confirmed the firm had purchased the building which houses the retail chain. Yesterday, Mr Din told The Gazette that, while he had not received official confirmation of the closure in writing, his office understood the store would be closing within the next fortnight.
