A scandal too far, even for Fergie
The Gazette
|September 25, 2025
THE kids are back at school, the big tubs of chocolates are in the shops and that can mean only one thing - the annual “who's going where for Christmas” debate will be under way in households across the land.
It’s a tricky one. Apart from the stress of Christmas dinner who hates sprouts, what's the veggie option and will the pudding stretch to serving 12 there's the whole issue of navigating the relatives.
But if you thought great-aunt Enid or the annoying cousin with the poor taste in jokes might be a problem, spare a thought for the Royal Family.
Yes, they have palaces and flunkies and riches beyond compare. And no, none of them will be up at midnight trying to defrost the turkey. But they also have Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah.
I suspect no amount of cracker pulling, paper hat wearing or schooners of sherry will lighten the festive mood around that Christmas table, if indeed the pair are invited at all.
