2kg steak challenge leaves man hospitalised

HE HAD EATEN SO MUCH HIS STOMACH HAD GIVEN UP AND STOPPED PROCESSING FOOD
A STOCKTON man had to be taken to hospital in agony after he finished a 2kg steak as part of a restaurant's food challenge.
Reece Chadfield travelled seven hours to tackle the titanic portion of steak, chips and onion rings at Cattlemans Steakhouse at The Parkers Arms in Paignton, Devon.
The 22-year-old personal trainer, who is 6ft 2in but weighs just 11 stone, demolished the 6,000-calorie meal, including 2kg of steak, in 36 minutes and 44 seconds.
Reece, known online as Reece vs Food, said that despite feeling warmer than usual and having shaky legs he felt fine immediately after clearing his plate.
The following morning he woke up with stomach pains and was sick, but shrugged it off and decided to tackle another hefty food challenge that night.
After polishing off a 2.5kg fish and chip feast he went for a 40-minute walk and went back to his room, when the pain “properly kicked in” and he was sick again.
After spending a restless night nursing his swollen and painful belly, Reece said when friends saw him ‘shrivelled up’ and looking pale they carted him off to hospital.
Struggling with a temperature of 39C, doctors hooked Reece up to IV drips to rehydrate him after tests revealed a lot of unprocessed food sat in his stomach.
