Talisay, Consolacion top areas with most drugs seized

The city of Talisay and the town Consolacion have been named as the top city or town in Cebu Province with the most seized illegal drugs recorded in the first semester of this year.
-
This was confirmed by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Cebu Provincial Office Investigation Agent III Jonar Cuayzon during the Openline News Forum on Tuesday, July 28.
Based on the data from the PDEA Cebu, over P17.5 million, or at least 2,588 grams of shabu were confiscated from eight drug personalities in Talisay City.
In Consolacion, around 618 grams of shabu valued at over P4.2 million were confiscated, which also led to the arrest of 15 suspects.
The figures did not include the sole PNP-initiated anti-drug operations.
Cuayzon said that the proximity of Talisay City and Consolacion from Cebu City in the south and north areas of the province, respectively, suggested a factor to the massive consumption of illegal drugs, noting that both places also have a significant population density.
