SSS rolls out LoanLite to shield members from loan sharks

The Social Security System (SSS), in partnership with Union Bank of the Philippines, has launched SSS LoanLite, a micro-lending program designed to provide members with accessible, secure, and affordable credit while protecting them from predatory lending practices.

The program was unveiled during Serbisyong NextGen – Celebrating 40 Years of SSS and UnionBank Partnership held at NuStar Hotel and Resort, Cebu. Leading the launch were SSS President and CEO Robert Joseph Montes De Claro and UnionBank President and CEO Ana Aboitiz Delgado.
In his keynote message, De Claro said the program will serve as a safety net for Filipinos vulnerable to informal lenders.
