Still efficient at 40 years old, LeBron James sits among the NBA’s elite with season averages of 24 points, 8 rebounds and almost 9 assists per game. He currently shares the league record of longevity with the retired Vince Carter, playing 22 seasons.
He will break this record if he returns for his 23rd next season. Probably fitting since he wears number 23. But things are still iffy on his two-year, $104 million contract with a player option for the 2025-2026 season.
Lebron, who'll be 41 by the middle of next season, can either take the player option and remain with the LA Lakers or, he can opt out and be a free agent, re-sign with them for a longer and a more lucrative deal, or move on to another team and maybe bring Bronny with him.
