Rama willing to be Garcia's lawyer
The Freeman
|July 05, 2025
Former Cebu City mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia has found an ally in erstwhile mayor Michael Rama on the alleged purchase of a luxury vehicle.
-
Rama said he is willing to defend Garcia by providing legal services on the alleged controversial purchase of a luxury electric vehicle in the amount of P4.4-million.
While the most recent midterm elections were filled with heated verbal exchanges and legal arguments, there seemed to be a change in tone from Rama following the latest controversy raised against Garcia by newly-elected Vice Mayor Tomas Osmeña.
"Maluoy ko ni Raymond. Amo man ning administration unta, n'ya tan-awa, gadali man sila, unsaon man nako pag dipensa nila," said Rama, in a press conference yesterday, where he presented “untold stories” from his stint as mayor at City Hall.
Rama recalled that Garcia was his choice for running mate in the 2022 polls, despite then vice mayor Donaldo Hontiveros having assumed the post upon the death of the late mayor Edgardo Labella.
Rama said, at the time, he had promised Garcia that the latter would eventually become mayor, and advised him not to be hasty about the process.
