PB approves Capitol office for international affairs

A dedicated office to handle international and local sisterhood partnerships of the Cebu rovincial government will be established following the approval of the ordinance, which formalizes the province’s growing engagements with both foreign and domestic partners.

Approved on second, third, and final reading during the regular session of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan on December 15, 2025, the ordinance establishes the International & Local Sisterhood Linkages Affairs Office (ISLA) under the Office of the Governor.
The measure, authored by Board Member Malcolm A. Sanchez of the Lone District of Mandaue City, is envisioned to serve as the province’s central coordinating body for all sister-city, sister-province, and twinning agreements.
