TikTok Shop is tightening its grip on Southeast Asia’s fast-growing digital commerce landscape, stepping up collaboration with ASEAN governments as it courts the region’s micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs)—a critical economic bloc still struggling to fully transition online.

At the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (ABIS) 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, the ByteDance-owned platform spotlighted 11 MSMEs, including five entrepreneurs under the ASEAN Supporting Our Artisans and Retailers (SOAR) Together program and six TikTok Shop sellers.
The group delivered live selling sessions before regional delegates, offering a real-time display of how short-form video and social commerce continue to shape consumption patterns across ASEAN.
