No 'Drag Den' Season 3 for now, says creator Rodina Singh

After two seasons of running the reality series “Drag Den with Manila Luzon” on Prime Video, Rodina Singh needed to take a breather from doing non-scripted television.

Singh's latest film, “Dreamboi,” is a byproduct of that desire to return to one’s roots as a filmmaker. The psychological drama stars former child star and trans actress EJ Jallorina as Diwa, who uses erotic audio created by her favorite porn actor under the titular alias (played by Tony Labrusca) as a coping mechanism to deal with the hardships of living as a trans woman in the Philippines - from relationship troubles to the dangers posed to her existence.

"For the eight months [I did for Drag Den], I didn't do anything else because it took so much of my time,” Singh told attendees at a talk-back after-party at Castle Peak Hotel on November 16.

Singh and Labrusca attended the Cebu block screening at Ayala Central Bloc, following its impressive run at VMX’s inaugural “CineSilip Film Festival Awards” in October, where it nabbed eight awards, including Best Film, Best Director, and Audience Prize Award.
