Milestone-aged elderly get P10k cash gifts from NCSC

Close to 500 senior citizens (elderly) in Cebu City receive P10,000 each in cash gifts this week as the National Commission of Senior Citizens of Region 7 (NCSC-RO 7) kicked off its distribution at Cogon Ramos Gym last Wednesday.
The NCSC is tasked to enforce the Centenarians Act of 2016 (Republic Act 10868)---which entitles seniors to receive P100,000 upon turning 100 years old---and the Expanded Centenarians Act (RA 11982), enabling seniors to get P10,000 upon reaching milestone ages of 80, 85, 90, and 95.
The recent money distribution, anchored on RA 11982, recognizes Filipino elders who have reached milestone ages with financial support and public tribute.
Cebu City was among the first localities in Central Visayas to implement distribution alongside Lapu-Lapu City.
