MCWD told: Remove pipe lines in canals

A Cebu City Councilor is urging the Metropolitan Cebu Water District (MCWD) to immediately remove the water distribution lines submerged in canals.

Councilor Harry Eran is also asking the MCWD to formulate and implement a comprehensive plan for the proper management, upgrading, and maintenance of its water distribution lines within the City of Cebu.
Eran’s requests are made through a resolution he has filed, which will be tackled by the Cebu City Council during its regular session this week.
The resolution underscores the city government’s concern over the safety and sanitation risks posed by exposed and improperly installed water pipes in several barangays.
