Maya, the Philippines’ leading digital bank and fintech ecosystem, has entered a strategic partnership with retail distribution giant Ultra Mega and connectivity solutions provider GoodApps to drive financial inclusion and digital transformation among the country’s micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), with a particular focus on the ever-present “sari-sari stores.”
-
The three-way collaboration targets over 100,000 retailers within Ultra Mega’s nationwide distribution network, offering access to working capital, digital tools, and connectivity services designed to enhance business resilience and growth in an increasingly digitized economy.
"Sari-sari stores are more than just convenience outlets—they are economic linchpins within communities,” said Khurram Malik, Group Chief Commercial Officer at Maya.
According to Malik, the partnership is a concerted effort to make these micro-entrepreneurs more future-ready by integrating financial technology with localized support.
At the core of the initiative is Maya Advance, the company’s embedded credit offering powered by Maya Bank.
