Marcos admin urged to revive 'Libreng Sakay' for commuters

On top of reducing excise taxes on fuel and granting financial assistance to drivers, the Marcos administration should also revive the government's “Libreng Sakay” program to help commuters tide over the looming substantial spike in transport fares.

“The revival of the Libreng Sakay program will benefit vulnerable sectors such as students and daily wage earners,” Rep. Ching Bernos proposed. “I hope the government pushes through with it for the sake of the commuting public.”
