DOLE reminds employees of holiday pay

April 01, 2025

The Department of Labor and Employment reminds private employers and workers of the proper payment of wages in today’s nationwide regular holiday in observance of Eid’l Fitr.

- —Caecent No-ot Magsumbol

Being a regular holiday as declared by Malacañang last March 20, 2025, if the employee does not work, the employer pays 100% of the employee’s wage for that day, provided that the employee reports to work or is on leave of absence with pay on the day immediately preceding the regular holiday.

If the day that immediately preceding the regular holiday is a non-working day in the establishment or the scheduled rest day of the employee, employees will be entitled to holiday pay if he or she reports to work or is on leave of absence with pay on the day immediately preceding the non-working day or rest day.
