Credit education program aims to empower Filipinos

Global data and insights firm TransUnion has signed a memorandum of agreement with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) to roll out a nationwide credit education program, marking the first time a private credit reference agency will work with the central bank on financial literacy initiatives via the BSP’s E-Learning Academy.

The module, “Understanding and Managing Your Credit Score,” is slated to go live on BELA as early as next year and will serve as an interactive primer for Filipinos seeking to better understand credit behavior and financial health.

The platform—part of the BSP’s broader push to expand financial education—will feature scenario-based exercises, explainer videos, and modular lessons accessible to users across age groups.
