Couple nabbed for selling fake tire sealants

Around 300 boxes of counterfeit auto tire sealant products worth more than P600,000 were seized from a married couple during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Mantuyong, Mandaue City.
The suspects, identified as a 33-year-old woman known as “Lane” and her 37-year-old Chinese husband “Kun,” are both residents of the area.
The entrapment was conducted on September 17 by the operatives of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group—Cebu City Field Unit (CIDG-7), following a complaint from the country’s lone authorized dealer of the original product.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Atty. Jerick Filosofo, chief of the CIDG-7 Cebu Provincial Unit, said the complainant reported the presence of counterfeit products in the market.
