Night shift workers in Cebu City may soon benefit from free and accessible transportation.

On Monday evening, July 1, Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival and Vice Mayor Tommy Osmeña, along with several councilors, led the dry run of shuttle services for night shift workers an initiative aimed at addressing the public transport challenges faced by graveyard shift employees.

"We're proud to announce that the Cebu City Government will sponsor free bus rides to IT Park for night-shift employees. This initiative ensures a safer, more convenient, and more comfortable commute for our hardworking night workers," Archival said in a Facebook post.

The project is aligned with Osmeña's "Mayor of the Night" initiative, which seeks to make government services accessible 24/7 to support the city's nighttime workforce.

"Mayor of the Night Phase 1 begins, more routes to follow," Osmeña wrote in a post.

He later clarified that the program is open to all night shift workers, not only those in the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) sector.
