With overflowing joy and pride, the Cebu Eastern College paid tribute to its trailblazing alumnus Julie Marcojos Pañares in a simple yet meaningful ceremony on Friday, July 11, at the CEC Gymnasium.
The momentous occasion was graced by CEC Chairman Frederick "Eric" Ong III, Board of Trustees Dwight Choachuy and Jeff Go, Assistant Director for Business Affairs Johnny Lee Sy, Senior Liaison Officer John Mara-at, Academic Head Dr. Arlene Okora, College of Teacher Education Dean Prof. Charmaine Candia, and Human Resource Coordinator Dr. Darlene Tan-Rivera.
In a historic feat that resonates deeply in the heart of every Easternian, Pañares etched her name in stone as CEC's first-ever board topnotcher when she ranked fifth nationwide in the June 2025 Special Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (Elementary) with a score of 85.40 percent.
"This milestone is a testament to your discipline, resilience, and deep love for the profession you have chosen," said Ong. "It is also a reflection of the dedication of our faculty, the support of your family, and the learning environment we have built together in this institution."
